Q: the C415 I noticed it extra high cab, is that the same on all C415 or just a few, I looking at doing a C415 for SP&S.

The C415 could be ordered with three different cab heights; a low one for minimum clearances, a regular height one, and an extra-height one for maximum visibility.

Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway bought two medium cab units with Hi-Ad trucks. the Southern Pacific bought ten high cab units with AAR Type B trucks. along with the sp 2 short lines in washington bought 2 high cab units. the Columbia and Cowlitz and Chehalis Western Railroad each bought 1. The 2 biggest purchacer of the c415 was the sp and the rock island

sir that tatered old flag flew from my m88a1 in iraq that allowed me to servive 3 ied attack on my wrecker it flew from my antenna and it and i have history and there is a reson for its unchanged state. it hung on the motor pool wall in fallujah as i was towing in battered and damaged us combat vehicle and we preyed by it when my friends and brothers in arms were killed in action. it is cared for by me and stays on a wall where i remember the fallen.

so i say im here to discuss trains and not the reason i keep my ragged old flag and she is in no disrespect and we shall agreed to disagree if not ill move her and fly my rebel flag

Dale, thanks for serving..It took guts to see what you did. You owe no one an apology..I find it sad that there are those out there who would rather cite flag etiquette and cut and paste the full rules to "show their knowledge "Shame on them for this .A private PM to you would have been acceptable, the public commentary is callous.Your service protects even those who choose to jump on a young man trying to get his life back together after all the Hell he's seen. You and all of our Servicemen and Servicewomen fought and served to defend the right to fly the flag freely. I appreciate all that you and all others living and dead through all wars have done to keep us free and safe..God Bless you

Mr. ED,
Beating up on a vet is your idea of being a patriot? We are here for trains.Looks to me like redneck is flying the flag, proudly if I might add(we can't all fit flagpoles inside our houses) it may look like drapery because there just happens to be a window behind it.

Being a disabled war vet from OIF 2, was injured when my track rolled over an anti-tank mine, I take offense to people quoting flag code, especially a flag inside a private residence. While I was in the army (1st Inf. Div.) I saw many flags in barracks rooms, plus on the rooms of the soldiers in Iraq. Never, I mean never did anybody care to question. I see no problem with somebody hanging a flag that has reverence and meaning to times, and loses, hanging a flag in their home to remember. Red, you have my support.

now getting back on topic, ok, I understand I am looking for a medium hight C415 for SP&S, SP&S only had 2 C415's. Who makes them, in HO?

E5 OIF II 74D Mech Smoke.

I am located in Vancouver, WA, just up the road.

for the C415, I guess I am down to kit bashing, I own no brass (yet), and have no cash (monthly budget at the moment is $100), I have seen some C415 for sale at some swap meets, maybe this is a good place to start. My time in this hobby is not long, I been working HO since Oct last year. I did N for a few years, other than that I not model trains since I was 15, in 1986.

My current layout has cost me about $65 so far, I had track from the prior, and the wood was given me. This does not include locos and stock, that I have picked up lots of 2nd hand, and blue boxes. I did find an atlas RS-1 in SP&S brand new (these have not been in production for awhile, lucky find).

Hero wall (or I Love Me Wall) JD, shotshells, piece of wire from the DMZ and a horse poker. Now even without the gratuitous commentary, one could guess that you know the front end of a horse from the other end. or at least the front of a tracked vehicle from the back. Definitely trying to be a new age redneck. (Old Age redneck http://www.scotshistoryonline.co.uk/rednecks/rednecks.html )

And I thought bringing up politics on a train forum was bad. That was uncalled for.

I'm probably a little late on this, but screw the attitude about "Old Glory", and how she's been placed in a private residence!

Dale,

Put the old girl back up where she belongs! Unfortunately, you've already catered to that A**HOLE'S whinning by moving it in the first place!

I expect to see her in the background of future layout progress shots.........understood?

That is all, carry on!
