Last batch, if you have any questions, email me at contact_us@railflyermodelprototypes.com. The parts list is also good for the GP40-2W. I thought that was a commonly known feature of Canadian built locomotives? Correct me if I am wrong but it is the nemesis of all Canuck modelers who need this changed. I wish Athearn would cast a separate base and merely recover the additional/unique tooling through a higher price. I have long wished Cannon & Co would do some of the Canadian things like vertical steps or 102" nose. I must say that I am interested in what Railflyer is doing but I am not quite sure if they are only offering after market parts to Canadianise things like Athearn or Atlas; or, are they doing full modular kits to make a proper Canadian loco - beit a CP SD40-2 or any of the CN wide nose units. I sure wish there would be a Canadian company that would rise up and produce RTR *accurate* models of Canadian prototype second generation stuff (maybe this is coming from Railflyer - I don't know yet). I do not buy the fact that something Canadian is too small of a market. I refer to the Australian market where accruate models are done in limited runs. That country really has never had uniform models across the entire nation (until recent times). As a matter of fact, to put it in a Canadian context, you would liken the units to be unique to each Province. The trade off is additional cost but the Australians buy out the production with a "pre-production" price favouring those who order early. Canadian prototypes have a significant advantage in producing models that would be bought by Americans where leasing occurred in the past and where there are run throughs and (now) significant ownership of American lines. Also, the models were pretty much uniform from West to East in the country itself so you do not have the issue of regionalism that the Aussies do. ASIDE: Please do not respond to me by saying "go ahead and put your money in". I would be glad to be an investor but due to me residing overseas (in Australia) no business model could be run from this country based on another country's models.
