Its been a rough summer with our loss on the stanchion deposit, funding an entire plastic restock, and having a mountain of back orders to fill just because this or that component was out of stock. Let's also call a spade a spade and mention that we've done what we have even though the politics of the industry and community have been against us from day one! We've climbed through this and I eventually got back to work so I can at least feed and provide for my family until Railflyer really gets onto its feet. I've asked for sales push to get the hoods out. We likely could have hit the mark but last week we did less than $200 in sales which will cause us to be short for end of month bills in a few weeks. There still is a chance to get this done but we really need a few good Samaritans to carry the cause. With the modular tooling we need 50% deposits to start the project ranging from $2000 - $4000. This means that we need to get this money ahead of our normal operating costs. Hence the need for a "surge". So there are two reasons for this post. One is to show our progress. In August we did a sales push to start the next mould. I was hoping for the hood add on components but with the inclusion of everything needed for a number of units and ability to do something now, I started the clean air room bases instead. The second is to get your help on starting the matching hoods for these clean air rooms. The bases will model all locomotives from the GP35, GP38, GP39, GP40, GP15-1, GP38-2, GP39-2, GP40-2, GP50, SD38, SD39, SD40, SD45, SD38-2, SD40-2, and SD45-2. The issue with clean air rooms is that nobody has got it right yet dimensionally and have never given you the option to get a correct match to Your prototype. http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/aa329/RFMP_2005/IMG_0006.jpg http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/aa329/RFMP_2005/IMG_0004.jpg Your money that you've supported us with over the past three years has not gone wasted. We're almost ready to wrap up the gears, we're waiting on a supplier who's waiting on his supplier for the final parts of our drive. We've also put out some state of the art details if you don't want to go with a Railflyer fleet. So if you're able to give us a "surge" over the next week, I'll be happy to supply a GP38-2/SD38-2, GP40/SD40/GP40-2/SD40-2 hood to go along with these clean air rooms. Don't forget that our stanchions are also in quality control, we'll have them soon. They are going to be great. After they are released we're going to get you some hood add on components and new cab options. As a final reminder, we got our Salem Filters in this summer after a lot of stressful delays. Take a look at this images, and compare our release to the status quo. http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/aa329/RFMP_2005/DP_6203_c_1.jpg http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/aa329/RFMP_2005/DP_6203_b_1.jpg http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/aa329/RFMP_2005/DP_6203_a_1.jpg All the best, Christopher Howard Railflyer Model Prototypes Inc. www.railflyerodelprototypes.com |
