Where were you when this car was issued?
Author: WrongWayMurphy

I was a 3 year old living in Dallas, TX. My grandfather, a B&O fan and modeler living in Oxford, MD,
introduced me to model trains early in life and left me with this car before he passed away in '65.

He also left me with a pair of B&O F units that were driven by rubber bands (Varney I think?) and as a kid
were great fun because they were scaled geared at something like 200 MPH.

8 year old in New Jersey. Probably just got my first train set, which came with a Varney F3 A-B set that ran terribly. Hobby shop swapped it for a Revell F7 decorated in New Haven.

Eagle, those rubber-band drive locos were by Athearn. I had a Hustler in silver with red stripes. It could fly!

I was a 4 year old, living in Southern California. Already had an American Flyer set for two years, at that point. Dad had gotten a train set for his son... 8^)

I was a nine-year old playing with my "Gilbert" American Flyer train set in San Francisco. I still have that train set today with the original box it came in!!

'59? Hell, my Dad was only 14 at the time. I didn't show up for another 23 years after that.

Must have been 9, and was not encouraged to mess with big brother's O-27 setup. Though, I was allowed to build structures for it. :-)

...eight years old and living in Portland Oregon, I already had two model trains, an American Flyer powered by a Berkshire complete with self dumping log car and an HO TYCO set that I believe was supposed to be a GP20 in CB&Q markings. No layout, these were all set up on the living room floor whenever it was allowed...

Dad was 10, playing with a Lionel Wabash set of F's, nearly 12 years before I can along, some 51 years before my son came along.
