introduced me to model trains early in life and left me with this car before he passed away in '65. He also left me with a pair of B&O F units that were driven by rubber bands (Varney I think?) and as a kid were great fun because they were scaled geared at something like 200 MPH. Probably just got my first train set, which came with a Varney F3 A-B set that ran terribly. Hobby shop swapped it for a Revell F7 decorated in New Haven.

Author: Espeenut ...eight years old and living in Portland Oregon, I already had two model trains, an American Flyer powered by a Berkshire complete with self dumping log car and an HO TYCO set that I believe was supposed to be a GP20 in CB&Q markings. No layout, these were all set up on the living room floor whenever it was allowed...
