Model Railroading > Prototype for Athearn BB hopper?Date: 11/17/12 06:59 Prototype for Athearn BB hopper? Author: pennsy3750 Is/was there a specific prototype for the Athearn steam-era hopper? This is the 4-bay car with offset sides. I have a few lying around that I'd like to try and rebuild into better-looking renditions of prototype cars.
I've tried Googling; I get a lot of results for 2- and 3-bay cars but nothing on 4-bay ones. TIA Date: 11/17/12 09:06 Re: Prototype for Athearn BB hopper? Author: puddlejumper ARA, 70 Ton hopper, ca. 1926.
I had posted a link here, but deleted it because I think it is prohibited. Do a google search of "prototype for Athearn Quad Hopper" and 2 or 3 sites pop up that talk about it.
