Model Railroading > Pacific Model Loggers' Congress updateDate: 12/14/12 09:04 Pacific Model Loggers' Congress update Author: Jeff_Johnston Greetings! Plans are moving ahead for our upcoming 9th annual Pacific Model Loggers' Congress that takes place March 2, 2013, at the Camp 18 Restaurant & Logging Museum in Elsie, OR. We'll have the usual event features plus a new model contest award sponsored by Model Logging Supply -- details to be posted soon to our website -- and a clinic where we'll be doing a weathering job on one of our attendees' steam locomotive models.
The weathering clinic works like this. During the clinic we'll be doing a complete weathering and finish on a steam loco, much as we did back in 2008, and as shown in the video "Steam Loco Weathering Clinic." This time, we'll be doing an attendees' model. Anyone interested in taking part in the clinic brings a finished but unweathered model to the event and signs in for the clinic. When the clinic starts, we draw a name from a hat and that person't model is used for the work. The owner will also take part in some parts of the project. We haven't done this before but we'll see how it goes. The attached photo shows the mild weathering we did on a Bachmann Climax back in 2008. We also have a new video that's a good overview of the event, but it's posted at the site which must not be named. A search under the event name finds it easily enough.
