Spectrum GP38-2 Disassembly- How to?
Author: dash944cw

Hey Group...
I acquired a used Spectrum GP38-2, and I need some help on how to disassemble it (remove the shell) so I can do some paint work and install Digitrax. I was able to remove all of the handrails without damage and that's as far as I got. Any "specific" help on how to disassemble it would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Not sure but check the fuel tank for 2 screws that hold the body to the chassis.
AFAIK.
Good luck

Yo BNModeler...
Thanks for the response. Unlike other Spectrum units, this one has no visible screws on the entire unit, aside from the coupler mounts.

Hi,

Look under the trucks. Thee is a hole in the frame and the screws are down deep in the hole.

I hope this helps.

Dan;
Thanks for the response. I see the deep holes you speak of, but if those are the screws, these have no heads on them. (I figured they were screws coming in from inside.) It doesn't appear the heads have been twisted off, but if those are in fact the screws that hold the shell on... I've got a real problem. I suppose the only option would be to drill them out, but before I do that, can you confirm that they are the screws that hold the shell on?
Thanks for the interest and for the response.
