Model Railroading > Clearing Out Old ProjectsDate: 04/09/13 20:05 Clearing Out Old Projects Author: icancmp193 I have a notorious bad habit of starting projects and not getting them finished. These two trucks have been sitting in a box on the workbench for years. The first is a Ruskie Zil 157 6x6 military truck from a Czech kit marketed by MAC Distributing. It has no business being on any USA model railroad...I just wanted to build one. The second is a Sheepscot Autocar C-102. The prototype was produced from 1950 onward. The flatbed is from a Classic Metal Works truck and the load was pieced together from my stash of detailing parts: Grand Central Gems and Model Railroad Stuff among them. I grew up on the East Coast and there were quite a few old Autocars around in the mid-to-late 60's.

Civilian versions of that same ZIL truck, with light blue and white cabs, were part of an average Soviet city street, and still could be seen up to recent times. And one of two mainstays of the switcher fleet on the ex-Soviet network, the TEM-2, is a version of the Alco RSD. :) Date: 04/10/13 08:43 Re: Clearing Out Old Projects Author: africansteam icancmp193 Wrote:

Use the truck as a support vehicle! ; > ) Cheers, Jack Date: 04/10/13 08:46 Re: Clearing Out Old Projects Author: chs7-321 africansteam Wrote:

Doug n Date: 04/10/13 18:20 Re: Clearing Out Old Projects Author: PHall Go ahead, put it on your layout. Put a bunch of other old military trucks out there too.
Just say it's a meeting of a military vehicle collectors club! Date: 04/12/13 10:47 Re: Clearing Out Old Projects Author: Mike_B Is that the Zil 157 for sale on ebay?
