Model Railroading > Tangent 3-compartment HO tank car

My Tangent tank car arrived today. Wow! It's an exquisite model that will make a great addition to my 1960's freight trains. Being a 6000 gallon car it's very small, smaller than the close-up photos make it look. The contrast in size between it and an autorack will be remarkable.

I echo these thoughts 100%. When my car arrived, I thought I had ordered something for HOn3! The 6000 gallon GATC 3-dome tank car from Tangent is an exquisite little car, and is a welcome contrast to all those 50' and 60' cars in my fleet. A fantastic product indeed.

I saw one at the Timonium show and yes, they were tiny, much smaller than I realized. I was just watching an early 1970's DVD called Kindigs Diesels with lots of early 1970's freight action. The more modern tank cars looked big and fat next to the older small ones.

Have you guys been ordering direct from Tangent?

In my case, yes, direct from Tangent. Arrived in one week and that's direct to Canada.

I think the only other 6,000 gal tank car we've ever had in HO is the old Roundhouse tank car, and the various HOn3 models. We need more! I'm especially looking forward to the 6 bay 6,000 gal. wine cars Owl Mountain Models had announced.

An illustration of it was on their old web site, which apparently was hacked so Jason took it down. The new site doesn't have everything on it yet.
