Tribute to the Big Boy
Author: SPED

I saw a picture posted yesterday on the Face-of-book of the Big Boy being moved out of the Fairplex. I noticed something familiar about the lead UP engine in the consist, I had modeled the #4884 a few years ago using one of those flair castings. Another irony, on Monday I received UP's Southern Pacific heritage unit! So I thought I would put these together for a modelers tribute. Please excuse the junk around them......just play like it's not there.<G>

UP wishes it was that easy to move a Big Boy. Looks great!

I guess I haven't paid much attention to the new "painted boxes" (diesels) until I saw the prototype photo of your last shot. Those damned things have gotten big haven't they? The steam engine doesn't overwhelm them like it used to.
