Preserving the SP in HO scale: Cruds & Crummys
Author: P5r24

Happy Easter everyone.

Today being Easter Sunday,
the scanner seems to be pretty quiet.

With the exception of the 4800 east
stopped at the top end on main#2
waiting for a new crew, chances of
getting lots of mainline action are
not looking good so far.

The yard channel however is busy this morning
with a set of SW1500s (or Cruds as some
railfans called affectionately them)
working the Caboose tracks.

S.P. 2537 & 2638 are Mued together
and sound great in tandem as they
pull & shuffel a long string of
Crummys into running order for the
next outbound trains.

That's quite an assortment of SP cabooses! Combined with the cruds switching and the long string of pigs behind a "fleeting" lash-up, and you got yet another scene that captures the essence of SP operations! What a joy to see it all come together each time!

I betcha' the crews would choose the UP cab over any of the others. They rode so much nicer than the rest of them. Great shots and modeling, Gary. -BMT
