I have some of these cabooses and yet have never had a need to get in there. In the thought that you may be wanting to put the crew in the cupola, I know the cupola comes off quite easily without having to take off the body. "To take the caboose apart, you need to start with the body off of the interior and underbody. There are three latches on each side holding the body on – to undo them, you will need to put your caboose on its side on a work table, take a very fine slot screwdriver, and wedge it in between the bottom of the body and the underbody (the gap at the very bottom of the sides of the caboose). Start at one end and pop the body off a bit, and then work your way along to the other end of the caboose. Once you have one side done, you may need to repeat the process on the other side. Once you have the body off, you will see how everything goes together, and should be able to take the roof panels off at that point." Doug Stark |
