ATSF/BNSF A-Frame Signal Bridge Blueprints???
Author: trainpixsnet

Am trying to find some blueprints/diagrams with measurements of the ATSF/BNSF A-Frame Signal Bridges, so I may model them as closely as possible. Have searched online and really haven't found anything.

Thanks for your help!

I think BLMA makes these. Check blmamodels.com

Don't get me wrong, the BLMA version is awesome, but with the number of signals I need for my layout it would cost me an arm and a leg.

Thanks!

The BLMA version is a very nice replica. The Santa Fe Historical Society has system standards books available with the information you need and much more.

Might be worth the investment to purchase one of the BLMA bridges and use that as a template to build additional bridges. If you have access to a printer you could print 2D copies of the bridge (side, front, top, etc.) and lay your framework on the copy, pin it in place, and then glue the framework together. I've used this method before and it saved me a lot of time measuring the various dimensions, especially angles.

Thanks for the info folks. I'm currently working on a 3D printed version and make them capable of having Worthing signals in both HO and N scales.

The Warbonnet (SFRH&MS Magazine) had a great article on scratchbuilding these a few years back

Oh... With the capital W I didn't make the connection. Sorry. I don't make fun of typos, can't afford to with the number I make!
BLMA or Showcase Minatures both have good H2 searchlights, and Details West is coming out with R2 color light signals.
