Anyone heard if these have shipped yet? Athearn's site has them as on backorder but the blue demos are in stock.

Yes they have, they arrived at Horizon on Oct 29.

Items without a due date and not showing "In Stock" means they are sold out at Athearn and Horizon.

Yes they are here! I just bought two off of that big ol auction site today!

Where did you find those? on Ebay? I looked yesterday and didn't see any. I've preordered 3 of them, 1 yellow and two blues. I work for CAT so I'm pretty excited to see the yellow one:)

I had the CAT yellow ACe on order and reading this post I called my LHS to see where the unit is. My LHS informed me tonight that and he called Athearn this afternoon, Athearn advised him that they found tht there are "problems" (undefined) with the Cat yellow and blue patch CN units and they are not going to be shipped any time soon. Shipping date for those two schemes he was told, is now "indefinite" according to the LHS. He did however receive a shipping notice for the EMD blue units and they should be in next week, along with some 57' sound reefers and a few other items.

Given I did not talk to Athearn myself, I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the report other than the fact that John is virtually always right on these things and is not given to telling "stories".

Perhaps someone from Athearn can offer a clarification/verification?

I note that there had been one on ebay for $365.00 or so and it is not there any more.

None others I could see....

So I'll get the 2 blue ones at least.

A big shipment from Horizon Hobbies came into The Train Shop Santa Clara, CA. today. They will be checking them out first , should be ready tomorrow sometime.
