Model Railroading > Unexplained tank on Beer CarsDate: 11/09/14 01:14 Unexplained tank on Beer Cars Author: funnelfan I was under the impression that a beer cars was simply a 60' insulated boxcar. But when I was painting the hubs of the wheels, I noticed the large tank in the underframe. I'm pretty sure the cars didn't have a hidden reefer unit, so it may have been some kind of cryo refrigeration system. Anyone know what the tank was for?

Ok another can of worms I hope not, does anyone have a pix of that? Never heard of such but sounds like a good way to prevent damage to goods.
