Here's a 3-bay covered hopper that would make an interesting weathering project. Note how the car top and sides exhibit heavy rusting but the ends don't

Take an AC&F 3-bay 4650 cu ft hopper and try something similar yourself. If you've never done much weathering before, here's an opportunity where you cannot really go wrong. Go ahead, give it a shot!

Talk about a rust bucket... Kinda makes me wonder what happened? Inferior metal on the roof walk, rusting away down the sides of the hopper, or possible (whatever) dry commodity they load inside this hopper, spilled across the top, causing metal deterioration? Quite the weathering project, for sure.
