Model Railroading > Athearn Genesis GP40-2's due Dec now TBD?

I've been watching the group of GP40-2's due immendantly which include NS, IC&E, D&RGW, and Conrail. Those were marked as due early December, and now marked as TBD. What does that mean?

Yes, TBD means To Be Determined, but what does it mean at Athearn? For example at Intermountain, it means they don't have enough pre-orders and are waiting for enough orders to come in. It may not mean the same thing at Athearn.

Noooooo! I've gone ahead and sent a query to Athearn and will let y'all know what they say. I sure hope they aren't delayed by much! Original announced delivery was July or August. Oh well!

I've seen this before. It seem to happen when their shipment has arrived. Then a week or so later the items show up in stores.

You may be right. It could be that the status goes to TBD while it is being reset or changed when units are arriving - hopefully! I wasn't thinking TBD meant the same on Athearn as it does IMR or another company.

TBD with Athearn apparently means "To Be Deivered"!

lots of delays with trans-pacific containers, many issues not just the slow down by the dock workers at some west coast ports, The "slow steaming" some shipping lines are using to reduce fuel consumption is also impacting delivery times . even air freight has been backed up recently....

So to misquote an old saying.... Your GP40-2 could be on a slow boat from china...

Tell me about delays! I was hoping to have them already. Athearn has replied as follows:

"These are certainly on their way and we still expect them to shipped in
the month of December (early in December, but that could change...):"

Here's reply I got

These are still due imminently, and are expected to ship in the month of
December (early in December, but that could change...) (The date only
changed due to some internal issues in our systems.)

There's also the shortage of container chassis's and drivers at the West Coast ports too.

The SD70s have also been delayed again they have went from September to October then December and now moved back to March. Anyone know what's up with those locos. Thanks Eric.
