Work Caboose
Author: Ruger338

Finished a work caboose for my grand kids to ride on, the flat car just was to uncomfortable or unsafe. I based it loosely on the old Athearn prototype. Future upgrade is a crate to go on the front of it with a sealed 12-volt battery and a PA so they can call all aboard (their request). Railroad pictures link:

Very nice looking caboose. Lucky grandkids. Mine only get to follow a G-Scale around the back yard and run HO in the garage. Do the grandkids get a Coke to make their ride even better?

How much for a coke? I sure like the looks of your garage. What else do you have in there?

That is really nice. As I looked at many of the caboose styles they all seemed a bit difficult to ride in standard configurations (foot pegs). This style seemed ideal so I designed the front for them to sit on (no walkway or stovepipe) and they could rest their feet in the deck. Their RR is designed to maximize their fun and safety, they are so funny as I was building it they complimented my work with a nice job papa, no higher compliment in the world.
