Best HO scale D&RGW stock car/caboose standard gauge
Author: brc600

Stock car-wise, I have a few Tyco/Mantua ones and an Athearn one. Caboose-wise, I have several Athearn ATSF style, the RI style extended vision and ATlas extended vision (Reading/Conrail prototype).

I am intrigued by the Accurail stock cars. Are these even close? What manufacturer is the best/closest for both cabooses and stock cars? Thanks! Tim in Omaha

I have a bunch of the Accurail stock cars...they might not be right, but they "feel" right if you follow my meaning. Caboose, probably the walthers wood caboose they did a few years ago, again they are not right, but they "feel" right, or at least more right than anything else. The wide visions are pretty close too, I think but much too late for me.
Cheers,
Nick

Wood Rio Grande standard cabooses from Lambert are brass and available all the time on ebay at very reasonable prices as are the 2 steel versions from PFM.
