Model Railroading > NS 9-1-1 models?Date: 05/28/15 07:45 NS 9-1-1 models? Author: binder001 OK, the unit is still new but have there been any rumors of an HO scale model of NS 9-1-1? I'm not an NS modeler but I do have two sons that are volunteer firefighters. I know that P2K (Walthers) and Athearn both make SD60Ms in HO that could be a basis for this model. This would be a neat addition to the roster.

Author: EH49 You would think it would be a natural for Athearn, but, it is a one RR (NS) unit. But, also, it could be very popular because 3 of them have special paint schemes.....Veterans, GoRail and now First Responders. You would think they would sell enough of those 3 to more than offset the tooling costs.

I know theyve done the "Salt Lake City" Unit, The "George Bush" unit, all the Heritage Locos.... I model Canadian, but id buy the 9-1-1 unit!

Author: hotmetal-train Those 3 units will never be produced correcly, at best one of them will throw a set of decals on an sd60m and call it good ( I think most people know what co im talking about)
the good thing is, someone (again you know who you are) will produce a set of decales that we can use when we build our own jeff Date: 05/28/15 14:27 Re: NS 9-1-1 models? Author: tankcarsrule BCR_766 Wrote:

So where are you getting your info? Date: 05/29/15 07:31 Re: NS 9-1-1 models? Author: toledopatch The big difference between the various Heritage Units and the three NS "tribute" engines (Veterans, GoRAIL, and 9-1-1) is that, as noted elsewhere, NS's SD60E rebuilds are unique to NS. Someone will have to tool one of NS's "Crescent" cabs to graft onto an SD60 body/frame just as NS has done. That's a bigger investment than just doing a different paint run; I can't speak to the likelihood of it happening, but acknowledge the distinction.

I wouldn't mind 6920 and 911 but they are out of my timeframe. Chris Date: 06/01/15 20:39 Re: NS 9-1-1 models? Author: MrOGDEN Quite a few cabs on Shapeways that are available.
