Model Railroading > Model Railroader Convention ReportDate: 08/28/15 10:25 Model Railroader Convention Report Author: retcsxcfm MR has a blurb about Walthers doing "more?" Budd cars.MR report says Walthers announced
November reservation and a Jan.2016 arrival. Does anyone have an idea what this is about? Did the Budd Trainline cars flop? Is Walthers doing these cars as Proto? OR? Uncle Joe,Seffner,Fl. Announced Nov.2015,delivery Jan.2016 all new tooling. Am I wrong? UJ Date: 08/29/15 12:41 Re: Model Railroader Convention Report Author: 41 the RPO-Baggage looks all-new (don't recognize the prototype though).
the observation looks like an NYC car but resembles (to me) somewhat like the SAL obs WAlthers did around12yrs ago. the small-window coach look somewhat like an SP Sunset Ltd coach, but don't think so. All three must be new tooling. retcsxcfm Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > cracker41 Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > Walthers Mainline. All three > must be new tooling. The Walthers "small window" coach is an SP Sunset prototype. It does lack the large rectangular number/letter board on the lower fluting and the trucks are incorrect, but otherwise is seems to be a good representation. Maybe they will "fix" that problem on the final production. I personally don't like the fact these cars don't have flush fitting windows. I guess that is one of the compromises for offering lower cost rolling stock. > > > > > retcsxcfm Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > cracker41 Wrote: > > > -------------------------------------------------- > > > ----- > > > Walthers Mainline.
