Photo 1 Electrical connection for lighting. One connection (+ and -) from the bottom of the layout to self-adhesive copper tape and easy connections for all lighting Photo 2 Night view of the (almost) completed Railroad Avenue running right next to the Sheridan Yards Photo 3 Daylight shot of paving. What fun! Mark <>< Date: 05/21/16 15:31 Re: Construction fun on the layout..... Author: 3rdswitch REALLY nice lighting!

In the building supply section of Lowe's or Home Depot you will find asphalt roof shingles. Generally there will be a "singles" or "open pack" bin. You simply take a shingle, flip it over and use the back side. If it is a bit two dark (new looking) just rub it on your concrete sidewalk or garage floor with very light pressure and it will smooth down and "gray up" to your liking. A light touch with a magic marker is used for the asphalt "crack fill in" and I used a small white marker for the center stripe. Quick, simple...and your back to running trains. Keep your rails shiny! Mark <><
