Model Railroading > Off the Workbench TodayDate: 10/23/16 16:49 Off the Workbench Today Author: icancmp193 As Walthers releases the 35' fluted-side van trailers, I generally spilt them up, selling one and mating the other with a tractor. This time I dove into my inventory and came up with a Lindberg Ford W-9000 COE, which was produced by Ford from 1972 onward. These Lindberg trucks were OK in their day, but are a bit crude by today's standards, so I used Resin Unlimited (OOP) wheels and tires, Sheepscot mirrors, and a few other goodies to spruce the thing up a bit. Did a freelance C&NW scheme for the tractor and put it with the trailer, which received painted details and scratcbuilt mud flaps. (You would think that at $24.98 MSRP for a 2-pack, Walthers could have provided mud flaps, but they didn't).
I'm generally pleased with the end result. Enjoy! Tom Y Date: 10/23/16 17:29 Re: Off the Workbench Today Author: ghemr I had one of those Lindberg trucks when I was a kid! It came with a single axle 30' (or so) trailer that had a round roof on the front. Darn, now you got me thinking----do I still have it mixed in with my original Matchbox and Hot Wheel cars??
Getting back to the post, you did a great job improving the tractor. The trailer is nice as well....... Date: 10/23/16 18:25 Re: Off the Workbench Today Author: SPDRGWfan Looks very good to me. One of the tractors might look good hauling the up coming Brown trailers from Trainworx to.
