It was the Western Pennsylvania Model Railroad Museum - very cool place. If you're ever in the Pittsburgh area it's a must see. Go Stillers!

Neither are located in Downtown Pittsburgh.

The Minature Railroad & Village is at the Carnegie Science Center which is located across the Allegheny River from Downtown Pittsburgh.  Here is a link with more information:

Minature Railroad & Village

The Western Pennsylvania Model Railroad Museum is located in Gibsonia, a northern suburb of Pittsburgh.

Both are worth visiting.

I thought maybe you were referring to this train on the way to the Super Bowl in Houston

Photo 4 - Rural Farm Landscape.  Photo 5 - You can't have Pittsburgh without Steel Mills!
The Western PA Model Railroad Museum houses a 4,000 sq ft display modelling the former B&O and Western Maryland Railroads between Pittsburgh PA and Cumberland MD in the late 1950's.
