Interesting design on the porch ends with the short walls, reminds me of a transfer caboose. Were these home built by IC?

Those always remind me of a 1950's era Cadillac.  They seem overly long and very bulky.

IIRC, one group of 50 was built by Darby Corp, the rest were home built in Centralia. Different roof panels were used on home-builds I think.

Well, I'm sorry but having experienced the prototype in the early 80's, I can assure you this
caboose is not nearly DIRTY enough.  LOL.  Nice model and looks very good indeed.
