"Machine Work on Display"

These guys must know to operate a Lathe, huh ?

This was a typical Friday night meeting of the Golden Gate Live Steamers in Oakland, CA in the 1940's !

Cheers.

Back when the clubs were a true fraternity. Now they are more quasi-businesses that left the hoby-portion as a side conversation.

The amount of skill that must have been involved to create these models is off the charts!  Probably couldn't be done my many today.

Got to love all the members wearing a white shirt and tie.  Even a sailor   in his jumper.

I thought model railroading was supposed to be fun.  I guess these guys haven't heard that rumor!  Leave the sailor alone, he's the only one smiling (and having fun?)
