Does Kadee make a coupler that will fit in the front pocket on brass steam models?  Needs a thin shank and hoefulle a hole for the screw.

You need some old Kadee #4's. Look on E-bay.

If you have the room, which is very little for most brass engines, invest in a tap and die set. I have tapped some small holes 0-80, usually larger, and secured the coupler that way. Found it less of a hassle when having to remove the coupler. Drilling into an expensive brass engine can be scary.

I've been using No. 58s, snipping the end off, drilling a .025 hole through the shank and using a piece of brass wire to secure it.  I make sure its located OK in the pocket before marking where to drill the hole in the shank.
