Time for a progress photo report on the construction of blue foam mountains at the California Southern Model Railroad Club. Pics all captured within the past few weeks, compiled by section to try and show building and shaping of the hillsides. Simple beginnings with raw 1.5" sheets in front and below the track, and just the first row of 2 sheet above and behind the track.

We will be adding a layer of plaster/plaster cloth to the surface of the foam shapes before painting the scenes with light earth toned latex paints. The upper level walkway is raised up on an 18-24" platform to allow for longer smoother 1.5-2.0% grades between the upper and lower sections. Mr. MRL |
