Model Railroading > painting Burlington E-7Date: 06/18/17 12:35 painting Burlington E-7 Author: BaylorMax Hi, all,
Lately I have been reworking various brass engines that I accumulated over the years. My latest project is an HO Oriental Limited E-7 detailed for the Burlington. It is nickel plated to simulate stainless steel. The Burlington replaced the painted side panels on many of its E units with stainless steel panels. So, I'll mask the side panels and then paint the remainder of the shell some sort of Burlington aluminum. What paint should I use? The Burlington Bulletin No. 10 from the Burlington Historical Society lists the original paint as Duco 254-3935 Aluminum. The various color guides show an aluminum color but not a silver color. I would welcome your thoughts. Thank you all!
