The Milwaukee Road used hydralic mining techniques and sluices to backfil wooden trestles on the way to Avery, ID to replace the wood structure with a fill to save building a steel trestle.

Cool idea!

One suggestion would be to have the spray coming off of the working face a little more brownish. There's a lot of dirt suspended in that stuff.

But a great scene overall, and something I've never seen modeled.

In the Clint Eastwood movie "Pale Rider" there are some accurate scenes of Hydraulic Mining. I like your scene very much, you may wish to check out the movie for extra details.
