N scale rail joiners
Author: theshoe

Hello, Been out of modeling for a long time -- Looking for ideas for the rail joiners, I have all Peco track and switches and use (trying Peco rail joiners) but they all seem to fight me (insulated & steel) I believe the rail is all code 80 and that's what the package's of joiners say --- Idea's And yes my eye's were much better 20 years ago !! Thanks Tom

Try some Atlases... They work with my Peco track and turnouts.

Good track joiners are going to be a little snug. I file a taper on both sides of the flat foot of the rail, and put a shallow bevel on the very base. This gives me a tool that I can chuck into a pin vice or in a small file holder to "loosen up" the joiner. Once you get it started on the rail, it's fine. Some commercial track can have little burrs on the rail end that needs to be cleaned up with a file.
