Model Railroading > New Hobby Shop Opening!!!!

This weekend in Toms River NJ on rt9 in the Home Depot plaza is opening a new hobby shop. Hobbytown USA Hobby Center The Company Hobbytown of Boston is a big player in it. Yes that Hobbytown. they have returned to production and are looking into increasing the line of locomotives. Let us hope It pays off.

Maybe they can come up with something to make our model steam locomotives pull more without using rubber tires?

Less often than closing it seems. But there are at least two others, Caboose, which opened to fill the hole left by Caboose Hobbies, and that Cornfield Hobbies that's been advertising here as well in the Midwest.

Not for the faint of heart we all know, but definitely good news. Hopefully all these shops will be successful as long as the owner wishes to keep it going.

Anyone thinking the LHS institution is in a death spiral ought to see the success (and the incredible inventory) at Mainline Hobby Supply in (tiny) Blue Ridge Summit, Pa. My go-to hobby shop for a generation, owners Bonnie and Brian Wolfe combine a fabulous on-site shopping experience (they have EVERYTHING in all scales and gauges), with a lively Internet sales operation.
