They need to make C44-9Ws and AC4400CWs. So they should do the AC44CWM locos too

Interesting for sure. Never thought I would see the day GE would actually do rebuilds that last..

ScaleTrains would be a great choice since they did a such a great job on the Tier 4's. I love the roller bearings and detail, I agree that they should do the -9 and AC4400's together.

Other than the radiator grills, what has been modified externally on these?

New cab, inverter cabinet, dynamic cabinet, clean air cabinet and trucks. Not only did they replace the steerable trucks with roller blades, GE is using the older design of roller blade hi-ad side frames. Back four or five years ago, mid ES44AC production life, GE made a wholesale change on all 6 axle units to use the base design for the C4 truck that only BNSF orders for all side frames regardless of the buyer, unless they were buying the radial trucks, which maybe CP and CSX were still getting.

The NS AC44C6M's that not only GE has rebuilt, but also both NS's shops in Roanoke and Altoona, as well as the 3rd party shop in upstate NY are all using the C4 platform side frame. So I am not sure why GE has gone back in time on the side frames, but for these CP rebuilds they have. The NS units also received everything I initially mentioned, however, none of them received the raised radiator grillwork that the CP units have.

Regards,
Russ
