Indianapolis and a Hawkins question
Author: Chessie

I may be traveling to Indy in the not too distant future. Any good shops remaining? Also, what ever became of the inventory from Hawkins Rail Service? Thanks in advance.

Last I heard, Jack closed the shop a year ago with some or all of the inventory auctioned sometime this past fall.

Some of the itms are showing up at train shows.
I will let someone else answer the hobby shop question. Not many options now.

When I'm there I like to visit Train Central at 6742 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN. It has some good new and used stuff. Nice folks/customer service too.

Train Central was a pretty good store, although the last trip I made there, the inventory had not been refreshed at all from the previous year, lots of older stock, and overpriced bluebox items. They did have a pretty good part selection though. Worth dropping by if your in the area.
