Digitrax SDN136PS sound decoder

I went on the Digitrax's website and looked up a sound decoder I would need for a Bachmann Spectrum E33. It said that SDN136PS is for the E33. I ordered one from E-bay and when I received the sound decoder is looks like there is only Steam and Diesel sound, CV 60. Would I need to
install a different sound project into the decoder to get an electric sound?

You are on the right track. You need to select the proper sound project files for E33 and download it to your computer. Then you need a Digitrax PR3 or newer PR4 programmer to move the project files to the decoder. If you have a new Digitrax DCS 240 Controller you do not need the PR 3.
