BLI passenger cars
Author: retcsxcfm

If this has been brought up lately,I missed it.
With most of the HO passenger car modelers
crying for more trains from Walthers and can't
get some of their favorites.Broadway has announced
a Wabash "Blue Bird" train of four cars! How many
people model Wabash?
Why can't we get some Southeastern "or" other
trains we need especially from BLI,based in Florida?

The Blue Bird train is just CZ cars with Wabash paint. Nothing new about the cars themselves. No new costly tooling. A way to extend the marketable life of these cars.

Alas, this a rerelease of the CZ cars painted Wabash, and not an actual Bluebird.

Seems like a old time complaint "they never do my road".  There are more of those than "hey great, that's my railroad".

Or the corollary, announce a road name and wait forever.... like the N&W passenger cars... which reminds me, how can three different companies produce a N&W J in HO but no one except BLI even pretended to produce a run of passenger cars?

MTH produced N&W cars in HO scale.

Ah, thank you, I was befuddled, yes to MTH, but the second run announced about a year ago hasn’t materialized...

They just took the CZ cars, painted the blue and decaled for Wabash.  Not true Wabash.

Exactly, though just a car or two are sort of close. Most of the Wabash modelers I know have low enough standards that they don't care. Lionel is coming out with Wabash GP7s with GP9 numbers (reported as GP9s) and no Mars light, among other things missing. But again, most of the folks that will buy these don't care.
