Model Railroading > Across the track detectorsDate: 11/20/02 05:54 Across the track detectors Author: garyj Hello all,
Our club has a hidden staging yard that is under the layout. We are having an open house in December, and I would really like to have some IR detectors installed and operating by then. I already have six of the seven tracks in the yard filled with trains, and I am going to need at least 21 detectors (entrance, middle and exit). I have an intermodal train with three engines and 37 cars, that sticks out the end of the tunnel (long enough, that I need three detectors on each track in the yard) Do any of you know where I can get some matched pairs of transmit/recieve IR units that will allow me to use bi-polar LED\'s? I will probably also need some directions on how to hook everything up also. Thanks in advance!
