I used a very coarse tooth hacksaw, the cut is wide but it goes fast enough. You can safely break it once the cut is about 2/3 through.

The plaster gums up the saw teeth. You need to frequently clean them out with a wet cloth.

Try a Dremel with a grind wheel.
