Model Railroading > BNSF heritage Trinity hoppersDate: 10/16/18 19:18 BNSF heritage Trinity hoppers Author: cabman I have been collecting the HO heritage Trinity covered hoppers from BNSF by Athearn and wonder if I missed the boat somewhere along the way. I have NP, C&S, ATSF, Frisco, GN, FW&D, and BN, but no CB&Q and SP&S. Have these two been released already so I have to find them on Ebay or elsewhere? I can't think of any other roadnames than these, or have I forgotten one?
Date: 10/16/18 21:07 Re: BNSF heritage Trinity hoppers Author: CSX602 The Athearn SP&S and CB&Q heritage covered hoppers were just released last month - Athearn 89613 and 89611. The prototype of the SP&S car is a Trinity 5161cf car. However the prototype of the CB&Q car, like a few of the other BNSF heritage cars already done by Athearn, is not a Trinity car.
The prototype BNSF Trinity 5161cf covered hopper numbers only go up to 483999 (BNSF 471500-483999 are Trinity 5161cf) and the car numbers 484000 and up are Gunderson 5188cf cars (like the models done by ScaleTrains). Date: 10/17/18 03:48 Re: BNSF heritage Trinity hoppers Author: NSTopHat Some of the heritage car fleet are built by Gunderson. ScaleTrains offers those roadnames.
