Consisting and manual notching.
Author: M-420

After some research followed by trial and error, I have gotten a couple locomotives set up with manual notching and they seem to work well.

However, when I consist them together they respond to the throttle as they should, but only the leader responds to the sound commands (F9) while the trailer remains in idle.

Any tips? I've searched the forum, but didn't see anything about this particular issue.

Thanks
B

The best way to accomplish this is to use advanced consisting and set up all locomotives in the consist to respnd to the functions used for manual notching.

Using an Econami decoder,  I programmed both locos oriented back to back as follows:  Lead loco CV 21=103 , CV 22=1.  Trailing loco CV 21=96  CV 22=2
If locos are oriented elephant style (back to nose), just change CV 22 in trailing loco to 1.
