SP 9950 (U50B) makes a run on the MOP
Author: WrongWayMurphy

Took my U50B to a friends op session last night on his MOP layout
(shout out to Trainorders.com member acltrainman for making this available to me)
and gave it a go on a run through freight.  Many a MOP train held in the sidings as
this special made a non-stop run from Texaskana to Palestine (Tex).

This is timber and petrol country, here in East Texas

Not a long train, maybe 16-18 cars (I didn't count) but the big GE made easy work of it.

The Tsunami2 GE sounds in her belly greatly enhanced the experience.

Nice layout and U50. Do you mean Texarkana Ark or Texas?

What in the world are YOU doing with THAT engine?  Not Katy or Cotton Belt.  I guess the next thing we'll see is a Jawn Henry  N&W steam turbine???

That pulpwood unloader in Fig 3 is really neat!  The pulptruck iitself s not nearly beat up enough -- no cracked windows, busted headlights, etc, Nice pictures!

Looks sharp to me, pulling the train solo on that great layout.

Nonstop? Somehow that NP reefer was replaced by a Nestle car en route. :-)

indeed.  The U50 pulled from Palestine to Texarkana, then the Hand of God reached down and picked up
U50 and caboose, swapped ends, and the lokie then pulled the train back to it’s starting place.  Because
the track owner uses a computer program to keep track of all car locations, I needed to put the string of
cars back where they came from.
