EMD SD90MAC-H PHASE II

Any UP modeler that follows the UP in the last twenty years needs one of these monsters... At least that's the reasoning I'm using if questioned by my wife. But in all honesty, she thinks they all look the same, so...... ;)
The UP 8531 has found its way to my basement and after mucking it up a bit, it is posed at Vista.
This latest model from Athearn is quite nice. It's finally refreshing to see them step up their game a bit to answer their competition. This model has awesome tooling and a full host of LED lighting effects. Numberboards and ground lights by the front trucks are welcome added features on this model. The model runs quite well AFTER the addition on a 21 pin ESU LOKSound decoder. I prefer the motor control of ESU and the ability to upgrade the sound files. My personal choice, your milage may differ...
Anyway, this is an excelant model from Athearn and although they spent most of their lives in storage, this one is a welcome addition to my fleet!
