It's nice of Intermountain to list dates, etc. but several of the dates are misleading. Those BNSF racks may have been built in the 70's or the 80's, but the paint scheme is much newer. Ditto the UP Building America rack. Nathan Beauheim Loveland, CO Date: 07/14/20 10:34 Re: NEW InterMountain HO Bi-Level Auto Racks Announced Author: SPDRGWfan nathan314 Wrote:

IIRC, the TTX speed logo wasn't introduced until mid-1991 so any car with that logo is post 1991. Then the 3 panel stencil was applied around 1982+ so that is another time marker. My modeling period is late 70's thru early 80's so I try to limit myself to buying models with 2 panel stencils. The WP rack is listed with date 11/79 and has the TT logo and 2 panel stencil. The Southern Pacific is listed as 5/79 and has the TT logo and 2 panel stensil. The L&N yellow rack is listed as 2/82 and has the TT logo and 2 panel stencil so squeaks in. The Chessie/B&O is listed as 12/85 and has the TT logo and 3 panel stencil so a bit too late for me. The red Santa Fe rack is listed as 11/74 but has a 3 panel stencil so not sure if this is a post 1982 repaint or what. Most of the rest of the Intermountain racks appear to be post 1991 with the TT speed logo. The used market is getting awfully high in price to get quality autoracks.
