i have seen on several videos a long wooden "toothpick" used to separate cars. what is the name of this item? tyia

I've always just gotten mine off Amazon as "skewer sticks" - obviously not the metal ones.

I think in model railroad use they are called coupler pics 
many start as cut down bambo cooking spears (not to be confused with Dill spears which don't fit between cars well)
