The weekend continued...

Photo 1.  Stevo_W's partner in Steam, Dave, and his new acquisition: a very nice battery powered GP9.  He and Stevo went all in on a pair of these, Stevo's is the low-nose freight version.
Photo 2.  Dave, very generously, alowed me to take the 9 out for a few loops around the RR.  (That's me, looping)  It's a torquie bugger!
Photo 3.  You've gotta love the alternate reality of this hobby:  passing an SP GS1.

3010 is a nice looking engine.

That GS-1 looks amazing.  Everyone has their own perferences, but I find operational steam locos on that scale particularly captivating.  The YW 19 looks great as well.  And RGS 41, well, what better way to get more bang for your buck from a defined track gauge than to build a "narrow gauge" protoype?

Excellent. Some of these large scale diesels look a bit funky but that geep looks awesome!

Looks like the ROW is configured for both standard gauge and narrow gauge.

The original loop (built in the early 70’s) was/is dual gauge, but it’s maybe only a quarter of today’s “mileage”. I don’t think I saw any locomotives using the narrower gauge all weekend.

What you are seeing is 4-3/4" track for 1"= 12" scale trains and of course 7-1/2" track for 1-1/2" = 12" trains.  Models of 2 and 3 foot gauge prototypes just adjust the scale factor so they can run on existing tracks.
