Had a successful show and swap meet

The Antioch Model Railroad Club, Antioch, CA (blackdiamondlines.com) had a fairly successful show and swap meet last month.  Here are some tips on how we did it safely
  • Our club has a front and back door so we were able to have a single file path through the layout
  • We put "keep 6' apart" decals on the floor every 6 feet
  • We are walk around but had all the operators inside the layout with radio or wifi cabs and away from the public.
  • We set all the aisle turnout controls to main line and ran one direction only because operators had not access to the controls
  • We stationed a member at the front door to insure masks and to regulate people into the building
  • We stationed a member at the back door to keep them flowing through
  • We waived admission and let them go through as many times as they wanted (we made more off donations than we usually do on admission !!)
  • We wiped down the fascia railing every hour with disinfectant and disinfected the bathroom every hour.
  • We put pump hand sanitizers at multiple locations.
  • We had the swap meet outside with masks required and good distancing.
We had zero mask or distancing problems with everyone behaving very well.

Good news, hope it encourages more shows and swap meets.
Great news about your crowd, that donations exceeded fixed price ticket revenue.
If they are generous with donations they are thinking about other people
Maybe more people are understanding that masks are not about protecting their own health, but are to protect other people around them.
