Model Railroading > Road and helper power out of syncDate: 11/20/20 11:33 Road and helper power out of sync Author: bobdavis Helpers work fine on a model railroad, at least most of the time. However, during a recent "solo" operating session I was running a long freight in each direction, both with helpers, and suddenly noticed the short cirucuit indicator lights in one power district blinking on and off. A quick look around revealed the problem. I thought I had the helper speed correct on this eastbound train of 30 or so cars but obviously that was not the case - with predictable results. I still don't know why that PRR boxcar didn't end up on the floor, probably taking a couple more cars with it. The cabin car had also derailed and was accordioned next to the boxcar, but I had rerailed it before deciding to take a picture. I have carpet squares on the layout room floor but it's about 58 inches from the railroad to the floor at that location and I'm sure some damage would have been done. Got to be more careful out there!
