PSC Cabooses have the potential to look great with a good paint job. I mixed a batch of SP Caboose red with Scalecoat Tuscan and Boxcar red 1:1. Markers and Jewels to follow

Beautiful job.  Remind me who PSC is for this 'right coast' guy.

There are 3 "Box Car Red" paints in the Scalecoat line:

1013/2013 Box Car Red (#1)
1087/2087 Box Car Red #2
1088/2087 Box Car Red #3

I'm curious which you've used in your mix. Of the above, most people favor #2 for SP "Metalic." A recommendation from Clyde King is to use a Scalecoat Box Car Red and Pennsy Freight Car Color (a light oxide red) 1:1. That sounds a lot lighter than Tuscan and Boxcar Red! Most SP modelers I know simply use Box Car Red #2.

It's been puzzling me that Tru-Color Paint (which, unfortunately, I can't use reliability due to Florida's Tropical Humidity) has TCP-211 SOUTHERN PACIFIC 1945-60’S FRT. CAR RED and TCP-346 SOUTHERN PACIFIC CABOOSE BROWN, which should be, AFAIK, the same color.

This isn't meant to be a criticism. Your caboose looks great! I'm just in a bit of a puzzlement as I've got to "fire up" the air brush soon to tackle some projects, including a few cabooses.

I have around 20 brass  cabooses I have painted.  The paint varies on most of them.  Why?  Because in real life railroad cars paints fade.  Some get caustic liquid or dry dust or smoke,  on them that sticks to the paint, etc.. The sun fades paint.

I would not be concerned if your paint does or does not match other peoples caboose colors of he same railroad.   More than likely you will wind up painting the color you like best after experimenting with mixes or possibly straight out of the bottle.

Thank you, I did use Boxcar Red #2 on a few and  in my opinion i will be redoing them because they are too red for my liking.
