Model Railroading > tsunami 2 decoder questionDate: 01/14/21 08:46 tsunami 2 decoder question Author: schneid I want to have fx4 work on button 4 on my controller. Which cvs do I need to adjust to do this? I'm in my 70s and find function mapping table so confusing.
thanks, paul Date: 01/14/21 10:14 Re: tsunami 2 decoder question Author: Arved Try setting CV38 to 4.

Otherwise the dynamics will engage when he turns on the auxiliary lighting effect. Be nice to know the DCC system and if it's a factory loco and what brand and type of loco, steam or diesel etc. Date: 01/14/21 19:33 Re: tsunami 2 decoder question Author: sp8234 Hi Paul
This is a little off topic but have you heard of or used a Sprog/Decoder Pro/JMRI? http://www.sprog.us.com/ If it was not for this I would NOT be in model trains today. It makes programming a lot easier. I program ESU Loksound, Tsunami, TCS, Broadway stuff with it. I can not upload sounds to ESU Loksound though. It has pages that explain what is on them instead of CV #s & it has those if you want to do it that way. I have the 3 amp one & have no problem with any sound programming. I still do not care for DCC but do like the programming side of it. My 85 year old dad used to program with it. Table M in the Diesel user manual (link) looks to have the information, if I was smart enough to interpret it. F25 is the default control for FX4. CV 1.260 to 4, and CV 1.299 to 25 looks like it would swap the two functions, and allow F4 to control FX4 if I'm smart enough. How's that look? I'm usually an ESU user, so I don't get much practice with Soundtraxx Tsunami 2 decoders, and modeling 1953, my diesel roster is limited to only a handful of diesels. I'm also still a "wet behind the ears" DCC user, but I seem to do better learning by problem solving, so by trying to help, I participate in the learning process. Straight forward but for some other decoders they are way over thought whe it comes to programing requiring more or diffrent items to get it done. |
