Model Railroading > rivers, Creeks, and Ponds Oh My! Pt 5Date: 04/21/21 07:23 rivers, Creeks, and Ponds Oh My! Pt 5 Author: santafedan This set is from the defunct Inland Pacific of Terry Gilmore. It was dismantled when he moved after retirement.
I will be posting a lot from this railroad. This was a multi-layered layout. Double deck with a third layer under them as a staging yard. The backdrop was about 1/2 inches from the roadbed. Pt 5 Author: santafedan Here is a pond spilling into a large creek.
The creek was done first. Terry built the spillway. I painted it with white dryish tempera paint to get grooves in the paint. I covered the white with shades of gray paint to get the flowing effect. The pond was next with EnviroTex. I used enough to get the pour to flow over the spillway and along the creek. Date: 04/21/21 07:40 Re: rivers, Creeks, and Ponds Oh My! Pt 5 Author: santafedan Three more.
Two more rivers each with a different "bottom". They had different sources of rock. The other was just along side the track. Date: 04/21/21 07:53 Re: rivers, Creeks, and Ponds Oh My! Every day on the way home from work I pass a spill way for Lake Manssas and when water is going over it, it goes down in sheets with a cascading triangles of water from top to bottom! Date: 04/21/21 11:50 Re: rivers, Creeks, and Ponds Oh My! Pt 5 Author: tomstp Just doggone nice.
